Their popularity and influence has long reached thouands of people in the local community.

But for those who do: Bubble Cafe is a bubble tea shop and restaurant located on Broad Street in downtown Athens, several steps away from the Arch. They sell boba milk tea, fruit teas, matcha, smoothies & slushies, poke bowls, rice bowls, and many more offerings.

Their drinks, food, and comfortable environment brings in hundreds of customers daily. Whether you’re a student looking for a quick meal, or a local in the mood for a sweet treat, Bubble Cafe has something for everyone.

My Order

Bubble Cafe is a frequent spot for me, so I’ve tried a lot of their offerings. Here are some of my favorites:

Sesame Chicken and Rice Bowl

This is one of my favorite dishes at Bubble Cafe. It’s simply breaded and fried chicken topped with sesame sauce and sesame seeds, accompanied with fresh rice and broccoli.

In my experience, they always end up putting a lot of sauce in the chicken. I like to order this dish at the counter and request that they use less sauce than normal.

Here, I paired it with a Thai milk tea with boba. The subtle sweetness of the milk tea makes it an excellent refreshment to wash down this rice bowl.

Lychee Black Tea

I first had this drink out of curiousity. Before then, I had never had a cold fruit tea, so this tea was a fantastic first impression! It has the sweet and tart taste of lychee that it’s known for.

I like to order mine with 75% sweetness (ignore the photo above 😅) and with lychee jelly as a topping. It’s an amazing fruit tea with a caffeine kick for the warm weather ☼

tags: asian, cafe, lunch

categories: Lunch, Uncategorized

If you’re a UGA student or an Athens native, Bubble Cafe needs no introduction.
